About Us

Our lab is a research team based at Istanbul Medipol University, established under the supervision of Dr. Büşra Eylem Aktaş and Dr. Hasan Galip Bahçekapılı. We bring together researchers who are interested in understanding how people develop, navigate, and make sense of morality and social relationships.

Our research focuses on  morality, cooperation, and evolutionary psychology. We investigate how people understand and respond to concepts such as fairness, equality, helping, sharing, and cooperation, and how moral and social processes develop and operate across different stages of life. With both children and adults, we explore the psychological and evolutionary mechanisms underlying moral judgment, social behavior, and human cooperation.

As a research team, we aim to approach these questions from an interdisciplinary perspective, bringing together ideas from developmental, social, moral, and evolutionary psychology. Through experimental research with children and adults, we investigate how people make moral judgments, respond to social norms, cooperate with others, and navigate the challenges of living together.
